Horse Cave, Kentucky, Lizard Lick, North Carolina, and other names must be the result of a silliest names contest in days of yore. I've never seen horses in a cave or lizards licking the top of a fence, all that moonshine they make must give rise to more than pink elephants.

4H and FFA on a field trip to the farm
Me and a friend sneak off behind
This big ol' barn where we uncovered
    A covered up moonshine still
And we thought we'd drink our fill
And I swallered it with a smile brrr I run ten miles
    Chug-a-lug chug-a-lug...

We had flurries for hours here in the mountains of NY, even before dawn, but now the main part of the snowstorm has begun. They will probably do worse down on the coast, New York, Boston and Long Island.

Expecting 8 to 12 inches (20-30cm) and temps have been dropping all day long. 10oF right now and still dropping.

Will be -14oF (-26oC), by Saturday morning. Time to snuggle under the blankets.

We just experienced a rapid temperature drop here in the past 45 minutes... at 8:15 pm, it was 19 degrees, and at 9 pm, it is 13 degrees. To have a drop that fast this cold only means that the storm off shore is really starting to get going.

Overnight forecast low was 15 degrees, it is now 13 and dropping.

I've been wearing shorts all day long lately.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Me, too. If it gets any warmer, I'm going to have to put on some SPF4. Don't want to burn, you know.
