I see an old SBE in that pic...
Whoops. I lied.
Here's mine. :hahano:
'DSG's motorcycle shack. 2/440 and 11M TRX, lots of other bands for RX including AM/FM BCB and VHF/UHF public service.

Do we need to be wearing clothes when we take the picture?
Actually I'm a good fuk... or so I've been told on numerous occasions.

aw well.... worse things could happen.
Ya, like getting stuck in the kennel with Bubba after a failed neutering operation... lol... Have you seen Bubba ??
I have not seen Bubba.
Here is Bubba. The Island Wood.
Ok........
Those arent nuts...thats a munitions deck!!
All,
The last few pages of this thread belong in Rumpus Room - not the ham radio-focused areas of the site.
Thanks.
Thats my shack dog and I’m a proud parent. I would think he can be part of the shack photo collection.
After going through the thread, I see I didn't post my UPDATED shack photo!
Now there is a Yaesu FTdx5000MP instead of the Yaesu FT-107!
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8361/8...4a423b52_c.jpg
Since this photo was taken, the Yaesu FT107 Antenna tuner has been removed and a Kenwood SM-220 installed in place of the Heathit HO-5401 Scope.
Notice the little undershelf flourescent light. That is so I can read all the controls on the FT5K. Also not visiible is the Signalink USB I use for Digital modes. Hidden to the right of the FT5K is a 2M FM for monitoring 52 simplex 24/7. On the top 2 shelves, also not visible, is a series of VHF Power amps and wattmeters. Also a Yaesu FT-225RD that is set up to monitor the 144.277 beacon frequency from Hawaii.
On the very top shelf is a 10 meter beacon transmitter I keep forgetting to turn back on. I have SWL cards from EU for that one!
Attachment 10003My shack in the livingroom, the other one is upstairs where i mostly repair or build stuff and have the FT 847 with collins filters for listening.
On the right edge the neck of the MD-1 Mike can just been seen on the arm it holds.
Turned to the wall if not in use.
The PCB you see boltd to the edge of the homemade cabinet holds LED's to light up the front of the FT 2000-D and also shine down on the Heathkit SB-1000 and EQplus.
Nice radio Pat!! You're right here is no substitution for better lighting.
Far and away my biggest outlay was for my used FT990, a couple years ago.
I recently made a change here as well, adding a separate test/assembly bench, with the two facing each other, about four feet apart.

I guess I'll throw this in here, too:
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z.../shack7-13.jpg HF radios: Icom IC-746PRO transceiver, Icom IC-736 transceiver, Drake TR-7 transceiver. VHF/UHF radios: Icom IC-2200H, Icom IC-38, Icom IC-45, two Icom T-22A HTs. Hallicrafters S-20R general coverage receiver (vintage 1939) that's used mainly for listening to Padres games. Yes, that's a CB (11m) rig on top, a Cobra Model 29. I use it as a quick way of doing a check on 10m conditions. The thing in the middle on the shelf directly below the S-20R is an old Sony car CD deck that was given to me as broken. I repaired it and I use it as the shack FM BCB receiver. Below that is a patch panel I use for switching antennas and rigs around. I like it better than coax switches because I never trust the front end of my receivers to the isolation figures given by manufacturers. It's a bit slower than a switch, but it offers complete flexibility—I can hook any rig up to any antenna in about ten seconds.
Shack dog or not, its testicles don't belong in the ham-radio section of the site.
For everyone's reference. Notice the "possible NSFW content" disclaimer:
https://forums.hamisland.net/forumdi...36-Rumpus-Room
Here's a very simple way to determine whether or not a given picture is suitable for the open areas of the site:
The staff will upon occasion moderate the site from our workplaces...during lunch hour, coffee breaks or what have you. If the picture in question would result in a trip to anyone's HR department as the result of a coworker viewing it, don't post it outside of Rumpus.
Other sites handle this type content a little differently than we do. 'BQ and his staff would ban someone with no warning whatsoever and either delete the post, lock the thread or both. I'm going to leave it in place for now as a detour sign of sorts but if the thread continues this way the content in question along with follow-up remarks will get moved to Rumpus.
Seriously, folks...what's so hard to figure out here? It's not like we prohibit this stuff - we just want some common sense used when posting such content. Not everyone wants to see it, especially in the "radio" section of the site.
Will do. However, it makes no sense whatsoever since we just found out all the content of the forum can be viewed by anyone, non members. Your logic makes much more sense if the Rumpus room was not available to the public, but it is, so whats the difference. Just trying to understand the reasoning. The real issue is we should make the Rumpus Room, Decontamination zone and Politics open to members only. Its not that big of a deal.
First of all, YOU just found out. It's not a secret. If you go to the site without logging in, it's very clear what's public and what isn't. We weren't hiding anything from you. Furthermore, Rumpus Room and DZ are not publicly accessible.
Secondly, what does publicly accessible content have to do with the type of content we allow? 1 + 1 != 3
I am stationless....for the last several months now. I may get a little qrp rig together, but im jonesing.
If anyone has an older spare rig lying around for cheap...just saying....:)
If I ever get to build a real 'shack', its going to be combo shack/darkroom. Ham radio on the other, and film processing/printing on the other.
Here is my shack.
