I guess I'll throw this in here, too:

HF radios: Icom IC-746PRO transceiver, Icom IC-736 transceiver, Drake TR-7 transceiver. VHF/UHF radios: Icom IC-2200H, Icom IC-38, Icom IC-45, two Icom T-22A HTs. Hallicrafters S-20R general coverage receiver (vintage 1939) that's used mainly for listening to Padres games. Yes, that's a CB (11m) rig on top, a Cobra Model 29. I use it as a quick way of doing a check on 10m conditions. The thing in the middle on the shelf directly below the S-20R is an old Sony car CD deck that was given to me as broken. I repaired it and I use it as the shack FM BCB receiver. Below that is a patch panel I use for switching antennas and rigs around. I like it better than coax switches because I never trust the front end of my receivers to the isolation figures given by manufacturers. It's a bit slower than a switch, but it offers complete flexibility—I can hook any rig up to any antenna in about ten seconds.

All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

    Micro photo.

Shack dog or not, its testicles don't belong in the ham-radio section of the site.

For everyone's reference. Notice the "possible NSFW content" disclaimer:

Here's a very simple way to determine whether or not a given picture is suitable for the open areas of the site:

The staff will upon occasion moderate the site from our workplaces...during lunch hour, coffee breaks or what have you. If the picture in question would result in a trip to anyone's HR department as the result of a coworker viewing it, don't post it outside of Rumpus.

Other sites handle this type content a little differently than we do. 'BQ and his staff would ban someone with no warning whatsoever and either delete the post, lock the thread or both. I'm going to leave it in place for now as a detour sign of sorts but if the thread continues this way the content in question along with follow-up remarks will get moved to Rumpus.

Seriously, folks...what's so hard to figure out here? It's not like we prohibit this stuff - we just want some common sense used when posting such content. Not everyone wants to see it, especially in the "radio" section of the site.

Will do. However, it makes no sense whatsoever since we just found out all the content of the forum can be viewed by anyone, non members. Your logic makes much more sense if the Rumpus room was not available to the public, but it is, so whats the difference. Just trying to understand the reasoning. The real issue is we should make the Rumpus Room, Decontamination zone and Politics open to members only. Its not that big of a deal.

First of all, YOU just found out. It's not a secret. If you go to the site without logging in, it's very clear what's public and what isn't. We weren't hiding anything from you. Furthermore, Rumpus Room and DZ are not publicly accessible.

Secondly, what does publicly accessible content have to do with the type of content we allow? 1 + 1 != 3

If I ever get to build a real 'shack', its going to be combo shack/darkroom. Ham radio on the other, and film processing/printing on the other.
