    Doomsday Cometh...

A summary of all the things we need to worry about in one article.

They left out vacuum decay which, for all we know, could be headed our way right now. It would travel at the speed of light so we'd get no warning whatsoever—one nanosecond everything would be fine, the next and the entire physics of the universe as we know it would be completely changed.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

    Vacuum decay, that sucks.

That's strange, when my vacuum decayed it didn't suck anymore so I had to buy a new one. On the other hand there are five fingers and a thumb, but Franklin figured out that in any physical system you’ll find that there’s an energy ground state that the system tries to approach. That's why as the fire brigade battled the blaze he decided his lightning rod would work better if he grounded it.

    Did he ground the B+?

Vacuum decay...... is that associated with a tertiary subspace anomaly? ....... if it is, then I saw that on an episode of Star Trek!
Why,driving into a brick wall at 60 miles per hour, would I expect it not to hurt!

More properly, it's false vacuum decay (my memory failed me once again) and it's one of those quantum physics things that will make your head hurt if you try to think about it too deeply. It's presently hypothetical, but it could be real. We'd never know.

    Only your false vacuum tubes.
