But playing taps at the end of the day pretty much only signifies that it's go-to-sleep time, lights out, time for that final...um..."exercise" til drifting off and little more.
NOW...if someone played taps, say, at the National Archives next to the Constitution and Declaration of Independance, THAT would be muy appropriate.
If it's a war on drugs, then free the POW's.
Nothing. The crew at the fire station down the street from me practices on their pipes every Wednesday evening and it sounds really cool drifting in on the wind.
That said, if anyone dares to play Amazing Grace on the bagpipes at my funeral, I will come back and haunt them.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.
