Jeans at the least for me. I normally wear "armored" pants and jacket.

I hate jeans because I find them extremely uncomfortable. I almost always wear leggings and yeah I know, if I go down I'm gonna be sorry. I do have a heavy leather jacket I wear most of the time and armored gloves though.

Lol, I wear jeans and thermal shirts 99% of the time. Even now in Spain when every one else is in shorts and flip flops.

And, naw, I wasnt gonna lecture. I have been down though. Rear-ended by a car on my Dual-Sport at 16. Even jeans didnt help too much.

Well, that's kinda my thinking. If you go down, unless it's at less than 20 mph, even jeans aren't going to help much.

For me it is a mental thing. I feel safer.

Oh, I hear you. Kinda like early winter riding to work and I slid on some black ice. For months afterward whenever I was riding I felt sure my bike was going to try and slide out from under me on a turn. Took until a couple of weeks ago to shake that feeling. And yeah, I did stop riding from December 7th until it warmed up again about a two months ago.

Still have to get a decent antenna up, though. ;)
That isn't going to buff out. Not one bit. And I still have some power supply components here, awaiting the go-ahead to ship.

Going home one evening on one of these:

I had it leaned over in a curve to the point where those nice bag protector rails were just about scraping the asphalt, then got the rear wheel into some gravel/loss of traction scenario.

What did they teach at the MSF school regarding this? (3 things)
