All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

We have just shy of 229 years. Plenty of time.

When I read this line I nearly spit coffee across the room.

All in all I am not entirely in agreement with the contents of the article. It's not nearly as bad as they are trying to make it sound. Yeah, there are some skills that are less important today than 100 years ago. But the same is true of every era. At one time you needed to know how to properly fill your oil lamps, trim the wicks, etc. These days that is no longer a necessity. At one time you needed to shake out the ashes, dislodge the klinkers, and stoke the furnace with coal or your house went cold. These days you simply adjust the thermostat.

It wouldn't take much for those antiquated skill sets to become highly prized assets in our world. We're only one well aimed CME from losing almost everything we've designed our lives around. Something worth thinking about

    Hello.

What if we had a major solar event?
Satellites would fail, no ifs or butts about it.
Now, been to a gas station lately? or WalMart? all have a dish on the roof used for everything from in store music to transactions.
Even the cellphone towers have 2 antennas and a dish pointed skyward.
All of a sudden commerce and communications come to a standstill.
Within a few hours nearly everything will quit.
All without a shot being fired, a natural event that just a few years ago would have been a minor problem.
Yes, a CME would ruin everyones day.
