the manual is available on line. Google it and you'll get your answer...
You can go to the Yaesu web site, and download the manual. It will explain how to do everything the radio is capable of doing.
I'm more of an Icom man m'self, but you can download the manual here. Click on the "Files" tab.
There's a D/MR button. Push it.
That being said, RTFM, in the most friendly way. You need to learn the ins and outs, and be a little worried each time you key up. It's good for future behaviour, to be a little worried about correct operating each time you key your radio :)
And, welcome to the hobby :)
What everybody else stated. That said, certain Yaesu manuals are NOT noted for brevity so you may have to dig a little to find what you're after.
And welcome to the hobby!
Welcome to The Island as well.
You'll find everyone here both frank and funny.
Frank doesn't like that kind of attention. :stickpoke:
I dunno about the FT-1900R, but most of the newer rigs have the repeater offset defaulted to
"ON" for the parts of the band that have repeater inputs, and "OFF" in the other areas.
wotkx, you are right. if I'd tried it I wouldn't had to ask.
I have one more question.I am learning code and want to buy a cheap CW 40 meter transeiver(if there is such a thing)Looking at catalogs I see the term side tone. Can someone tell me what that means?
Also anything else I need to watch for.
And thanks to all for your replies to my last no such thing as a dumb question.
