I’m pretty sure that the Padres being in first place is the Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse but am willing to concede that that might not happen until they win the World Series.
We’re saved. The Padres lost last night and are now in second place by half a game.
Tell me.. have the Padres yet achieved, let alone perfected, the Pirates ability to continually snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

Indeed they have. This is the team which has played a grand total of nine World Series games since they entered the National League in 1969 and has lost eight of them.

In the past 5 seasons... How many times, with The Padres leading late in the game by 2 or more runs, has the bullpen coughed up the lead, and lost the game?
Are the owners of the Padres mire interested in a winning team, or one merely profitable... enough.

We may need to revisit the Apocalypse. By the skin of their teeth, the Padres have made it to the postseason as the #5 seed wildcard team.
