    120' Tower Raising

A friend sent me this link to the recent tower raising at the Skyview Radio Society K3MJW posted on Vimeo:

    http://vimeo.com/7090988

It's long (just under 28 minutes)

I don't know... I'm not a tower expert, and I've heard that W2GD has a good rep and knows what he's doing, but the way that tower flexed when the crane brought it up...

Maybe tower raising is in the same category as making sausage... you'll enjoy the results better if you don't see what goes into it!

When I get the right piece of property, I'm going to do a 160M/80M 5-square and will have 4 120ft Rohn 55 at the corners, with a TH11 or similar multiband yagi on each serving as a capacitance hat. These will be fixed-pointed.

30 and 40M will be handled by a separate array, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do for those bands just yet.

Give me a property with some tall trees and I'll erect and antenna which can rotate the earth,
