    Motherboard Change With XP

So far I've had to reinstall XP Pro when changing a motherboard, which loses all the registry settings. It won't just "repair" when requested. Has anyone found a way round this?

On boot-up with a new motherboard I obviously get the XP logo and then a BSD, and on observing the loaded files in safe mode the PC stops at one called "mup.sys" or something similar.

A novel cure, many thanks for that! I've saved the page so I can add it to my huge list of documents on "what to do when M$ products go wrong". Advice direct from M$ doesn't always work.
