Last December, I received an email notice from Verizon that our set-top boxes were obsolete and needed to be replaced.
So, I contacted them. Found out that I would not be permitted to transfer our old data/TV plan, but that's OK, found a new TV plan, faster Internet (not that we really need it), and a net savings of about $30 a month or so. (I'd have to go back through the emails to tell you exactly how much).
Schedule it.
Then, the Internet speed gets cut. The cost goes up. And a few days before the install, AFTER I have a day off scheduled, they change the install date. (Me? Install it myself? Oh no, I don't have the technical background to be trusted with their fine pieces of male bovine semi-solid waste products). Fine. Make a call. I get the Speed back, cost down again, reschedule... and they pull the same nonsense again. So I cancel, figure I'll start again first chance I get.
Thursday morning, 2:30 AM EDT. Verizon sends me an email confirming my order for new equipment, new plan, schedules an install date, AND... increases my monthly fee by about $30 a month. Nice. Contact them... they have the audacity to suggest my wife approved it. At 0230? I don't think so, especially since I was up letting the dog out (that's another story) and I know for a fact that she was sound asleep (she snores, worse than I do, but she denies it)
Spent 90 minutes online with them yesterday. Finally got them to admit that this was AI generated. Nice. Order cancelled.
Today... box arrives from UPS. Inside? A new WiFi router from Verizon. Another online chat. Oh yes, this was part of the order... for an install scheduled a month from now. Lovely, considering I didn't know it was coming. Worse... they also shipped 3 new set-top boxes, which UPS told them were DELIVERED. Where? Not here, that's for sure.
Back online. Here we go again. First another argument about who ordered it. Then they want to send me to Billing again to discuss redoing the order. Now a Supervisor online, who assures me that I can ship everything back, and they won't charge me... the set-top boxes? I have to send them back too. Even though I don't have them. Well, maybe I should knock on the neighbor's doors and see if they got them by mistake.
Un fracking believable.
The sad part is? The only other option we currently have is Comcast Xfinity. And... they're worse.
*sigh*
