Hello, Alan, and welcome! We have been online exclusively since Jan 19, 2007. There is an amateur radio club who came along several years afterwards, and has "borrowed" the name of our web site. Their membership is very small, and has until now, caused no confusion between the two entities.

The name of this site on day 1 was "The Island of Misfit Hams" and has been so ever since. We claim the name... anyone else using it are pretenders.
