Thanks all. Sorry I haven't been around. Wife had two prosthetic replacements, elbow and knee with a round of breast cancer between them My priorities shifted, my ticket expired and I think it was for the best. I did bariatric surgery, lost 100 pounds, got my A1C back in to the normal range and have returned to doing outdoor things like fishing and riding my bicycle. Sold most of my gear. Still got the Icom 703 and a 7300 that I SWL once in a great while
I am surprised at such a sudden deterioration in a woman whose only ailment was a lazy anus.

Your tales of the 703 inspired me to get two of them (703+) - one with an 1800Hz filter and the other a 500Hz unit. The first is run on one of my motorcycles or as a secondary rig in my upstairs office. The other is in a POTA bag with a couple of batteries and all the peripherals needed to go have portable fun. Including a digital-modes tablet PC.
It's one of my favorite transceivers.
