doesn't the FCC site shut down overnight for updates? it's ancient govt technology ... and many govt websites shut down overnight (ssa does, other fcc sites do, ...)

It's true. I believe you broke it. Marina WiFi is notorious for ripping apart networks.

That’s why I gave up on the marina wifi and got my own private connection via cable modem.

There’s no competition for broadband access here at the marina so it costs me an arm and a leg — and it’s worth every penny.

So, I find out tomorrow if I get my requested short call sign, one of the alternates or a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, for which pleasure I paid the FCC $35.
ON EDIT: I didn’t get the call I was hoping for (AE6A) and I'm now officially NQ6U.
