I was working on the boat and got a splinter from some rough teak. Not a big one, and there was plenty to grab on to, but teak splinters can cause trouble if you leave ’em in too long so I went looking for tweezers.
In Ella’s first aid box I found:
• A couple of kilograms of ancient band-aids in yellowed wrappings
• Three pairs of bandage scissors in sterile bags
• One unwrapped pair of bandage scissors
• One YUGE pair of hemostats, big enough to clamp off your femoral artery
• Not. one. god. damned. pair. of. tweezers.
I finally found a more reasonably-sized pair of hemostats and managed to get it out using those, but it left something to be desired on the usability front.
