    What next?

Ok... I've completed a bunch of ham radio projects in the last 3 days:

    1. APRS station: Completed.
    2. sql logging solution running and replicating.
    3. Installation of RAID enclosure in main network server for backup and failover.
    4. 220Mhz beam up and working.
    5. All coax is now LMR400 flex.
    6. Alinco DM-30t Power Supply modified for better cooling and quieter operation.
    7. RAID enclosure modified for better cooling and quieter operation.
    8. Apache Labs ANAN 100D configured with internal oscillator turned off- GPSDO fitted with active antenna. Un-Frankenstiened the crappy connectors used and replaced with new ones.
    9. Soldering stations recovered from storage and being used.
10 Reflow solder on badly manufactured 19 amp Radio Shack power supply.

    What should I do next?

    1. Clean and sort mess on bench so things are findable.
    2. Run coax to 2 meter horizontal loops and do some weak signal.
    3. Remove transformer from Radio Shack power supply, dip in lacquer to get rid of hum, buzz, whistle.

I know. And it is appreciated.
I suppose I was hoping you had a buttload of frequent flyer miles burning a hole in your pocket...

Oh I've not flown much since September 11th. Every now and then. But not enough to have miles :)

I agree. Just realized I have no lacquer, so I upped another project and started surgery on the machine that hosts my Hyper-V cluster:

You get distracted too easily, like I do and created a mess with my computer that took a month to unmess. I'm an incurable neat freak and fusspot, here's the way I'd order them:
    1. Clean and sort mess on bench so things are findable. (There's that essential round tuit hiding in there.)
    2. Go to hardware store, buy a can of lacquer.
    3. Remove transformer from Radio Shack power supply, dip in lacquer to get rid of hum, buzz, whistle. (First remove the frame and anything squeezing the lams together, then let it sit a while, lacquer needs time to soak in, like overnight. Lastly put the frame back on and tighten everything. If it still hums teach it the lyrics, modulation transformers can sing.)
    4. Run coax to 2 meter horizontal loops and do some weak signal. (I just LOVE weak signal, our East Coast tropo is legendary.)

Y'all are welcome to come help me relocate my antenna farm next month. I'll be going radio silent in a couple weeks and hope to have everything back in the air and radiating at the new QTH before October.

I need to get into 3 R-71As and 3 FT-980s for updates if I can refrain from motorcycle projects long enough.
