    I com 551-d 6 meter all mode.

I have been looking for one of these for years. Everything I saw was either way over priced, or junk, or both. I got this on E-bay at a reasonable price , and it works well. CQ 6

    Nice! I enjoyed the 211 I had, a 251 would've been better. A 551: WOW!

They also made a 451 all mode for 70 CM. Looked just like the 251 and 551.

Having much fun with it lately? Seems to me you are in a great area for six. Around here there is some more six going on now that analog TV2 is up band, but it seems too quiet.

I'm working on a 5/8 wave ground plane for six so I can see if I can get into more than one repeater since they are all a long ways off with lots of hills in between. I would like to make a beam for ssb/cw too, hopefully before the next seasonal peak starts.

Have fun man, looks like a great example of a great rig!

There is quite a bit of local ssb activity around here on 6. Am and FM , not so much. I would love to find someone around this area to do some 6 AM. Maybe fire up the old Heath 6er. I do have a rock for 50.4.

If I hook an FTV-901R up to either the FT-980 or the FT-901DM I'm QRV on 6M; all modes. Could also get the TS-660 out.

What's everyone running for an antenna on 6AM?

There is a local net that meets on 6 AM here Fred. But, I don't know the details about it, except that it's on 50.4

A bunch of us used to meet on 50.4 in the 80s. I had a Lafayette HA-460 and others in the group had various rigs. Clegg 66er was one. Antennas were dipoles.

At the moment I have a 6/2/440 vertical connected to my FT-726Rs - and frankly, it doesn't play too well at the bottom end of the band. Gotta do something omnidirectional for net use. Thinking about a set of loops for 6/2/432.

I have an IC-251, not the D. It has the internal power supply.
Supply has just enough oomph to power a 6m transverter

    So, it's my 6N2 portable/mobile
