Don't play games, having 12 GB mem does the trick mostly, and SSHD and Intel core 7 processor and good video card.

Then hit the settings icon. Oh, do all this while you have the intended program open.
Save to run in game mode.
Large files in Photoshop under WinX got to be a huge pain in the arse with the program bogging down and acting buggy.
I use it when I'm recording music sometimes.
