I friend of mine told me he has been having fun working a ham radio satellite called FOX-1B, so I gave it a try yesterday. I made 3 contacts during a morning pass, that lasted about 10 minutes. I worked guys in Ohio, North Jersey, and Michigan. If you want to give it a try, the mode is FM. The uplink is 435.250 MHZ with a 67.0 tone. Downlink is 145.960. I was using an Icom 706 with a 15EL yagi for the uplink, and another 706 with a ground plane for the downlink. But, I read that it is possible to work it with a duel band HT on close passes. Go to N2YO.com where you can track the bird, and get a lot of cool info. http://www.n2yo.com/satellites/?c=18
