The only 6 meter only rig I ever had was a Benton Harbor Lunchbox. On a 5 element beam, it was a hoot. But then again, it was the 60's. Everything was a hoot.

True. I'll keep it around unless I forget. Another end benefit of the 60's.

I have an IC-251, with a Ten Tec 2M to 6M transverter mounted on top.

It is a very good combo. I get it. These old Icom rigs have hot receivers.

Pretty cool, George. The amazing part of that series was that they were all very, very similar electrically. The regen receiver was easily moved to different bands with just a few LC changes, and the same was for the transmitter. It is amazing how well the work for what they are. Like I said, I had mine hooked to a 5 or 6 element beam with an armstrong rotator. When the band opened up, it was truly amazing how far away you could snag a QSO. In later years, I used it for a local net. It was a lot of fun. I have no idea how well it would do these days as I haven't been on six for a lot of years, and don't know how many hams are using AM there.

When I was 16, My first CB radio was a CB-1 . Then back in the 90's, I worked a lot of DX into Europe on 10 meters AM, with the Tener and a 5/8 wave GP. BTW, a couple of weeks ago I worked a guy in Florida on 6 AM , who was running a Clegg Zeus. The audio sounded great.

Way back when, a friend of mine had a Clegg 99er. They were a nice rig for the time.
