    ARRL VHF Contest this weekend

Apologizes in advance if this isn't the right Forum or not allowed.

If anyone's playing in the VHF contest this weekend, beam toward FM08jm and listen for W4IY.
My local club activated Flag Pole Knob in VA on Wednesday.
We will be operating the bottom four VHF bands (6m, 2m, 1.25m, 70cm) from 4300' with legal limit power.

    Thanks.

I worked the contest and had a blast. I have a station set up under a canopy in our back yard. 3 bands. 6,2 ,and 70CM. 6 was open almost all afternoon Sunday. I heard w4IY a couple of times on 6, but I didn't have enough steam to make it from FM-29.

    W2AMR,

Glad you had a blast. I did too.
Worked 6m/200 early Sat, then 2m/432 in the evening until early am.
Came hime Sunday morning and tried to work them Sunday late afternoon from FM18, but didn't even hear them. Found a couple spots for them, last one was 2100z on CW but still didn't hear them.
Looking at the openings, they may have been focusing WNW and I'm almost due E of them.
Oh well, had a good time. Not sure what the plan is for Sept yet.

Oh, my! This is the Island, nobody ever gets uptight about posting in the wrong forum (the one exception is posting politics in the technical forums), and thread hijacks are commonplace, and sometimes even appreciated. We may even relocate an errant thread or post, but that's unusual, and nobody grumbles about it.

You're gonna have to really put some effort into breaking any rules here, it's simply that laid back. Relax, order your favorite drink from the Island mixologist (do tip him generously), and just put it on the Pope's tab, which never gets paid.

Enjoy the forums, Dan, and welcome to our little nuthouse on the web!

And which is roughly the size of the GNP of Montenegro.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.
