Thanks for having me in the forum!

Hi all! I couldn't find an intro sub-forum, so I thought this would be the best place to say hello. Luke, one of the owner/moderators, suggested that I introduce myself to the forum as my username could prove a little puzzling. I don't, as yet, have a call sign to use as a username. My interest in ham radio is relatively new and I don't yet have a license, or any equipment for that matter. I've joined the forum for informational and research purposes with a view to rectifying this. I'm looking forward to getting to know everybody. Cheers.

    Welcome.
Hope you will get a license soon, and discover the wonderful world of ham radio ;)

Welcome to the asylum forums, Charles! Seeing as the members are pretty much a laid back bunch, it's a good place to get a "feel" for amateur radio. I'd like to think that the more light-hearted side of the hobby is on display here. Some folks take things way too seriously, but usually not here (outside of the political discussions). I hope you find something that's interesting to you. You will certainly find some interesting humor... for example, thread hijacking is a long standing tradition!

The official Island bird is the bushtit. Knobs are very popular, and one more thing... it's best to not ask about the goat.

I have searched this entire web site and have not found one example of a thread hijack. It never happens here.
