My side won their first match by 257 runs. Their opponents collapsed in their 2nd innings. A player took a Hat Trick and in another game a score of 335 Not Out broke the record of the highest score at Lords.

Home game on Friday and the roll call of who has survived the Winter.

Nobody in the United States cares about cricket, which is as it should be.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

If no one cares why are they starting a Pro league.

Of course no American will be playing or watching.

Just because "they" start a Pro League, an any sport, doesn't mean that it will last. Market research only goes so far...

Remember, the USFL was kinda successful, until one of the team owners pushed the others to (a) move from the Spring to the Fall and go head-to-head with the NFL, and (b) sue the NFL over rights for stadium usage (rental). Which they "won", but a very pyrrhic victory, as I believe the damages awarded were exactly... $1. (Yes, they were awarded triple damages, so the actual payment was $3).

Trust me — only British and (mostly) Indian expats will be involved in this “pro league” .

Honestly, my comment was aimed squarely at you trying to hijack my thread about baseball. Yeah, I know, nobody but Americans (North and Central), Dominicans, Japanese, Cubans and the oddball Canadian care about baseball but this site is based in the United States and the majority of its regular users are Americans.

If you want to talk about cricket, the most interminable and incomprehensible game ever devised by man, by all means start your own thread.

He wanted to own an NFL team in the worst way. And almost did.

    Just thought I'd mention this...

For the last few years, the appearances by the Pirates Grounds Crew between innings (to clean up the basepaths) was sponsored by FedEx Ground. Duh.

    Not this year. New sponsor.

    South Hills Irrigation & Turf.

Yes, it's a real company. Yes, I did a double-take the first time I saw that company name appear on the Jumbo-Jumbotron, for obvious reasons. But I do have to wonder how long it took them to come up with THAT company name?
