The author of "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" has passed away at 88.
I've read that, and a lot of his other stuff over the years. He has a great website...
Hope it stays up.

"Where would we be without the agitators of the world to attach the electrodes
of knowledge to the nipples of ignorance?" ~ Professor "Dick" Soloman
He recently released Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance to the public domain. Makes me think he knew he was going.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.
Got a copy of that somewhere.
Have given copies away as gifts, and have received them in turn.
RIP yet another cultural icon.
"Everyone wants to be an AM Gangsta until it's time to start doing AM Gangsta shit."
"To say that God is any less in the workings of a motorcycle than he is in the petals of a flower is to belittle him." - R. Pirsig,
At my first professional job my immediate supervisor had that quotation hanging on he wall in front of his desk.
I keep my 2 feet on the ground, and my head in the twilight zone.
Damn. Very formative book for me.

So there I was, totally naked. With only a rubber hose and a stuffed animal...
Yea. Hell, I grew up in Minneapolis, and went to Montana State in... Bozeman.
His website is full of great stuff that he did later. Recommended.
