    Ryzen Released....

Well, AMD finally released their new generation x86 processor today- and it's getting a luke warm reception.

It's semi-on-par with Intel's processors, and far cheaper. Though I've been having a hard time finding a justification to upgrade my 9590 series processor which I cannot seem to max out anyway.

So I'm passing another upgrade cycle. Nothing I do in development, radio, virtualization, or any other of the nooks and crannies I get into are limited by my current setup.

Maybe I'm getting old. I'm just not excited...

So there I was, totally naked. With only a rubber hose and a stuffed animal...

Not getting excited does come with age, just ask Bob.

I'm still running an AMD Quad core, happily.

Microcenter is making a big deal about the Ryzen, or at least trying to.
Maybe if the have a cheap bare bones bundle at some point.

I was a huge AMD fan for years and years until I ran my first i3 and i5. These things are resilient and don't get NEARLY as warm.

When i started in computers, and had money to spend, i always upgraded or build a new fangled system.
The last laptop lasted 8 years, this new I 7 laptop will do fine for the next 8 years.
I invest in a new fast system, 12 GB mem, SSHD and decent video card in it, so it will still be fast enough in 8 years if the Lenovo keeps up that long.
17 inch HD screen, and it suits me fine.
