    MFJ-4230MVP

Seems that I won one of the "Black Box" prizes at the club hamfest yesterday.

The box (actually a reusable grocery story shopping bag) contained two things... a Yaesu hat (which I gave to one of our VE candidates, a new Tech) and an MFJ-4230MVP 30 amp switching power supply.

Question now is... what do I do with the damn thing?

(And unlike some, I don't own a boat, nor is it big or heavy enough to be a boat anchor)

Do you need a 30A supply? (Or need a new one)

If so, install the new one at your QTH, and "lend" your old one to the new ham?

Or, balance the load in your shack across the two supplies, adding an additional 30A to your station's cap.

At the moment, well, no. (That, of course, is the "surprise!" part that comes with a Black Box prize)

Murphy's Law, of course, says that I won't have a use for it, until I sell it or trade it or something, and then I'll find that I need it.

Do you have any LED lamps you would like to power? Throughout the whole house?

Use it to check how efficient the noise blanker on your radio is.

Wait, don't answer that until we all get a supply of Eye Bleach and Brain Bleach at the ready.
