Anyone ever written a XML-RPC control for fldigi?

I'm looking to configure a Raspberry Pi that tunes a rig to a specific freq, on a schedule, and waits for a digital transmission (VOA Radiogram and ARRL bulletin). fldigi looks like it'll do it, if I'm using it for rig control.

XML-RPC seems to be the key, anyone had experience writing XML calls for this? Or, any XML-RPC controlling fldigi?

I saw that, but I've never written anything to manage anything via XML-RPC, at all. I don't even know how to write the XML to send to the port.

Although, fldigi's ARQ mode is neat. You can open a telnet session, and either send it text, or get text, from wherever the modem is on the waterfall.
