On a regular two wheel bike I would always get a mud streak up my back (bobbed fenders were cewl). With that motorcycle and no fenders, I would guess a mud stripe the whole way around.

Looking at the linkage from the steering wheel, it appears that what happens is when the wheel is turned, it moves the rider in or out of the center of the big wheel causing his weight shift to steer the device.
Of course, I could be full of shit, too.
