I've noticed that... Something wonky with the term settings, still trying to hammer those out.

Yep, Fartfox works, but to use my Telnet client Winpack I'd need the static IP address and port number. It really needs password protection so everything won't show up on Internet reflectors and be read there, my home away from home BBS in Australia is. It's nice to see someone besides myself and a few remaining sysops still interested in packet, so very much has changed. The last nail was driven into the coffin a few years ago by three UK trolls that drove all users away except a handful of diehards such as myself who refuse to give in to bullies.

For youse guys who signed up, I've tried to go through and get your accounts both validated, and flagged as amateur operators. If you run into an issue, let me know. I'll need your user ID if you didn't sign up with your call sign.

Unfortunately, there is no static IP address. However, if you do a host lookup on bbs.solarpi.net, it will be up to date, within 90 seconds of changing. TWC is pretty good about you keeping your IP for a long time, so you might even have some luck connecting to that IP for quite some time.

Nah, then I'd have to keep rewriting the script when it's easier to use Firefox. Did I tell you I'm a lazy grumpy old bastid? Too much work makes me grumpy.

Speaking of Firefox, yesterday I finally had enough of Google's screw-ups that have been steadily getting worse and it collecting my data to sell to advertisers for pop up ads and spam. I went with DuckDuckGo for my default search engine, it's encrypted and collects no data. It installed as an add-on and wouldn't install as default, it was already installed. OK, I removed the add-on, same problem, it left a pussy print in a .dll, good luck finding it. I ended up refreshing Firefox and configuring it all over again, then came reinstalling the add-ons and configuring uBlock Origin again, finally setting up the search engine queue with DuckDuckGo as default. That put my e-mail way behind, so rather than keeping a friend hanging wondering if I succumbed to Trumpitis it was past bed time when I finished. Now today I'm grumpier than usual, so if you don't get off my lawn RIGHT NOW you WILL get off like a rocket powered by an ass full of rock salt! 3... 2... 1...

I've been using DDG for a several months now and came to the conclusion that DDG may not be tracking shit, but the internet itself is ratting me out as to where I've been because the targeted advertising has gone on unabated ever since. It's like I never stopped using google. So, I'm not so sure about DDG's claim of net neutrality. I think it was a scheme to get people looking at bomb building sites and kiddie porn to think they were safe from discovery using DDG. That's how DDG seems to me. Good thing I don't look at bomb building or kiddie porn.

Don't get me started on firefux......... I have to use it because the college says it works with their stuff the best. I'm sick of the crashes and bullshit with java scripts that seem to happen all the time.

I dunno, don't ask me I ain't no IT guy, I just drive it like I stole it. Truly an appliance operator when it comes to 'puters.

I use Chrome the most, Firefox a lot, and GASP, messing quite a bit with Edge.

Edge is pretty decent for video now.
