My packet node is back online and...

... packet in my area took a serious hit. There's one station, and it's a winlink gateway that runs like shit. I mean, seriously, I have to send about three packets before it answers sometimes, and sometimes, easy-peasy. I'm only guessing it's running on a bogged down machine doing something else, which is the cause for the variation.

The antenna is up high, and I'm running 10W out, so I know it's not a matter of it being shite connection.

But, regardless, I'm running a Mystic BBS on my node, and I'll play with it, if nobody else. I have lots of bandwidth to play on!

I've got enough spare HF transceivers around here that we ought to rebuild the 20 and 40M forwarding links/gateways. Still have a bunch of TNCs from back in the day too.

I'm game. Not much for talking on HF these days, so a packet gateway would be cool. I need to swap out the 857D doing packet duty for the 2500 collecting dust, but I had the interface for the 857D already there from the digital stuff.

FWIW, you can hop onto the packet node via my BBS. Yes, a true BBS: telnet://bbs.solarpi.net

    A telnet URL. Now there's something I haven't seen in a while.

lol, yeah, seems most modern browsers don't recognize telnet links these days. Takes a bit of work to even get Linux boxen to recognize it. I'll probably work SSH open to it too, eventually. Right now, SSH is my administrative port.

If you go to https://solarpi.net, there's a web console there for use :)

Firefox on the Mac had no problem. It threw up a window suggesting apps to use, I told it to use my terminal emulator and it opened right up.

PuTTY works, tho the ANSI graphics are a bit wonky.
