I am going to take this admonition and use it; I think it only applies to fellow members of the Island so, I think that I will be safe saying, "<Politically Incorrect>" Sons of biscuit-eaters that were born out of wedlock, AKA as Time-Warner/Charter Cable Company, jacked up my bill today, that was the last straw.
A couple of months ago, they encrypted all of the signals coming into my place thus, extending the "Point of Demarcation" to the input of my devices. Every device MUST have a digital lock-out device to authorize service to work; that's bullshyte after 30-plus years of freedom to do what you want with your cable once it entered your house.
When the company digitized all incoming signals, they killed my DVRs, the output from their device only shows on channel 3 and, my cable tuners (five of them) are dead.

I ordered a VOiP device and, as soon as it arrives, I will port my land-line number to it, and dump all television and telephone services provided by the cable company; I will keep my internet connection.
