    So, my posting here...

So, my posts here have dropped off a bit, but it's for a good reason!

In addition to cycling, I tacked on running. Made a bit of progress here, went from barely being able to run 100ft 1 year ago, to yesterday's 10K run (6.25 miles, for your Freedom-Unit folk) in about an hour.

I really used to hate running. Even while in the military, although I was pretty good at it. I think it's because it used to be treated like a punishment. But, I made a "resolution" to run a 5K race before I hit 40.

Well, with this resolution, I'm ahead of schedule! I ran a 8K race in November (Turkey Trot), registered for another 8K this March (Shamrock Run), and deciding which 5K's to register for this year. I'm shooting for a sub-25 minute 5K, as I originally was going to aim for sub-30, but already passed that on my daily runs.

So, I'm even starting to like running over cycling, but I think that's more a scheduling thing, coupled with it's easier/safer to run in inclement weather than it is to cycle.

No joke, that's the feeling I'm starting to get: I just felt like running!

In fact, on days I can't run (Like today), I almost get depressed haha

    Fuckin' A, man.

My first running goal was a sub-30 minute 5K. The sub-25 was a lot harder. The sub-20 is making me hate 400m intervals...and I'm still not there

FWIW, 10K is 6.22 freedom units.

I'm convinced I just suck at middle distance, though. I've been running for 3 years and have yet to crack a 6 minute mile.

Yeah, from what I gather, there's two ways to get a better 5K time: Do intervals, or run longer distances at your tempo pace. I'm trying the latter, only because I'm really digging the running thing for now :)
