Well the sign went up in the yard on Monday, the listing hit the MLS yesterday at 3pm, and by 7pm last night we had our first showing scheduled. Its being shown today at 3pm.

We thought that, too, but poor planning on our trip last year found us in the LA zone with no motel one night. The nearest available room was in Bakersfield. So, we decided to spend a night in the car at Wal Mart. To our horror, the Wal Marts there close at night, and we were not welcome in the lot! We managed to huddle with another small group of squatters for the night at a second Wal Mart location. It was not a relaxing night by any stretch of the imagination.

We have RV'd at Wal Mart, more than once, but we've also found a fair number that won't allow it. There are always people camped at the one nearest my house, even in the dead of winter.

I want to do that too. I've relegated it as "something to do if the wife leaves the earth before myself".

the JMT is still doable, and John Muir is downright inspirational.

I read too much Muir and Thoreau growing up, they ruined me.

I've been on the highest portions of the AT, coincidentally where I've probably made my longest 2M FM contact and where I've come the closest to being hit by lightning...
