    RigExpert AA-54

I have a RigExpert AA-54 analyzer I am selling. It's about eight months old or thereabouts. This one is in perfect condition and has all the extra stuff that came with it plus I toss in a USB A-B with a ferrite filter on it.
Go here for a complete description of what all these handy dandy little units will do.

I'm selling this one to get one that goes higher in frequency. Originally, I didn't think I'd need the extra frequency capability, but after using it, I found that it could do many things my other test equipment won't do, plus it is a nice handheld size for portability and field use. All the readings can be stored and downloaded to a computer and further analyzed using the included programs on the CD.

They go for about $350 new. If you are interested, drop me a line, we'll talk.

We purchased an AA-1000 at work after my constant prodding.

Works great. We do a lot of 900Mhz data stuff.

They really are handy. I wish I could afford the 1000, but I guess I really don't do anything way up there any more.

The "engineering" side of our company bought a fancy new Bird unit.

It's only been deployed twice. We use ours at least once a week.

    Value, you betcha! ;)

    All Gone.

I won't say who bought it, but look for a booming signal after they fix their antenna, analyze their feed line, and remove their shorts. (eyebleach....eyebleach)

I won't say who bought it either but it's a really freakin' cool little device. Remarkably intuitive to use once you get your head wrapped around the shorthand on the keypad as well. I need to trim the 40m portion of my 40m/20m skeleton sleeve dipole, BTW.

Anyone interested in an MFJ-269 in near-mint condition? $330 new, I'll sell it to any Island regular for $200.

Used the RigExpert to check my oddball homebrew 10m Moxon. Here's the SWR plot:

Could be trimmed a bit, but I probably won't bother. It's good enough as-is. Now, if the damned band would just open up again some day...

This is the antenna, BTW. It's mounted a little higher in the air now:

Not bad. Just for giggles, you should run it on other bands and see what you get. You might be surprised, and then again, maybe not.

I probably should. I did that with the G5RV Jr. and discovered it's not resonant on any frequency between 1.6 and 54MHz, although there's a bit of a dip in the SWR in the 20m band and another one on the 11m band. I've been thinking about replacing it with something else, maybe something for the WARC bands.

Or, maybe I'll keep it, fire up the IC-736 (which has had it's transmitter opened wide) and become a CB Gangsta. Gimme a big ten-four, good buddy.
