    Boxing

I feel badly for the people who spent a hundred bucks for the pay-per-view event tonight.

Floyd Mayweather defeated Manny Paciquiao in a 12 round pitty-pat battle; nobody got knocked down, no one was even staggered from a punch from the other.
Boxing is tired, the real Bloodsport is UFC mixed martial arts, three to five round professional Toughman Matches; they break arms and legs and, choke guys (and girls) out.

Anyway, the fight was streamed free over the internet.

Imagine the suckers that paid for ringside seats.

I'd be in favor of bringing back pankration.

UFC/MMA or Roller derby is where I get my "bloody carnage" fill these days. Boxing, I agree, is getting tired.

I get mine just driving the SoCal freeways every day.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

I kill off a few paper targets on the range, and if I feel up to it do some pinball shooting or falling plate.

There were multiple news reports last week that indicated the fight was going to be a disappointment, that both fighters were well past their prime, and both were just doing it for the paycheck.

And a heck of a paycheck, to boot. What did the winner clear, $100 Million?

So if someone paid big PPV bucks for this, either they didn't bother to follow the news, or didn't care. Either way, they made their choice, so I don't want to hear any whining about it.

Many bars and gathering spots in my area ordered the PPV and Charter Cable didn't deliver. Massive outage well into the early moaning hours.
