    I think I actually have a pair of crystals for that freq. I put them all in the 6 channel talkie. And to think I went into an old shop for something completely different.

    Yeah, that TRC 209 was 5 bucks. Haven't found one for sale online yet. I wonder what I can get for it BUT, it brings back memories of my misspent yoot.

    I used to have a couple of Handic 65C's with microphones and antennas, just like this:

    OOoooo! Never saw one of those.

    I got to looking around the old parts I have sitting around and of all things, I found a Radio Shack power mic with the 5 pin din connector! Popped in some new batteries and it all works. Just amazing. Just amazing.



    Years ago, when I was about 10 years old, a friend had a TRC 201. I stuck a variable capacitor in one of the crystal sockets and we listened to VOA on the whip antenna half the night.

    On Ebay there are a couple of simple, very small pcb kits, with specific IC components, covering a very wide band-width. If I remember where I last put them I'll give details, possibly tomorrow.

    LTC1799 from Linear Technology is one of the chips.
