    The Beast of Turin

See and hear a 28.5L (that's not a typo) Fiat start up for the first time in 103 years here. That's 28.5L—about twice the size of the engine in the average tractor-trailer rig—in four cylinders, BTW.

Sorry, I can't do an embedded video, but here's a soundless animated GIF:

All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Looks like something John Deere could put in their riding lawn mowers. Imagine cutting an entire golf course in 2.765 minutes. Instead of one a day, you could cut fore, if you had the balls, of course.

More about The Beast here. For us metric-impaired Americans, 28.5L works out to 1729 cu. in., with a 7.5-inch bore x 9.843-inch stroke. SOHC, by the way—pretty advanced for the time.

No muffler and no ear protection. The next day... WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU! SPEAK LOUDER! WHAT? I STILL CAN'T HEAR YOU!

Nice but it looks like they are running it without the shroud.

Sure it is. Because of it's date of manufacture (1910), it's grandfathered in.
