It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Ahh yes, autumn is just about here. My favorite season. It all starts with my birthday in September.. Oktoberfest... then the leaves start to fall... cool temperatures... stout beer... stout pipe tobacco... Halloween... CW sweepstakes... thanksgiving... snow... Christmas... and it ends with SKN.

What do you guys like about this time of year?

I don't mean to rain on your parade but early fall in SoCal is the suckiest time of the year. Not only is it often quite hot, it's Santa Ana Wind season—and that means it's wildfire season.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Sounds like fun! I would love to live down in NM. I hear the skies are clear and dark.

Pretty much the same, but it's hard to participate in anything CW without an antenna. My favorite key is SO lonely. I'll have to forgo Oktoberfest this year, beer and pain killers don't get along well. (:-<)

    Quit posting porn!! Sheesh!!

I was just thinking about making a mount for my new flameproof. I gave my dad the one I had because he is learning CW so I went out and bought another one.

I think I want to use black wood stain for the new base. It should look pretty good.

BTW, my elmer (N8CPA) and I always have something we call Oktennafest. This is where him and I drink good beer while working on antenna stuff to prepare for contest season.

I like the clean fresh air. The leaves continue to change here ahead of schedule and the wind is picking up (like 40MPH) and rustling them. The humidity has already dropped which is always welcome. I like it because the best music always seemed to come out in the fall. The colder longer nights also mean some quality time indoors.
