    Ice-Nine?

Does this sound suspiciously familiar to any of you Vonnegut fans out there?

Researchers at Spain's Centre d'Investigació en Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (CIN2) have studied the underlying mechanisms of water condensation in the troposphere and found a way to make artificial materials to control water condensation and trigger ice formation at room temperature.

Full article here. For those who don't know what Ice-Nine is, check out this Wikipedia article.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

I'm wondering... no. I'm not even going there. But what I'm thinking of is not a good application of this process. There is a lot than can go wrong with this.

"I'm wondering... no. I'm not even going there."
    But you HAVE gone there.

"There is a lot than can go wrong with this."
That's precisely what has gone wrong. At least the NH Railroad knows where it's going and it isn't THERE. (;->)

Criswell predicts...... Ice 9 From Outer Space! It's SHOCKING! It's got a WW2 army surplus store soldier and a lot of really cool old electrical stuff from Ed Wood's closet in it too.

    Someone noticed!

You're right, it's an old article. I just thought the parallels between what was reported and Vonnegut's Ice-Nine were worth comment.

Polywater is an entirely different thing, though. I use it in place of phlogiston as a coolant in my N-Ray generator. It reduces the emission of stray Upsilon particles.

I thought Downsilon would reduce stray emissions but it didn't work in my Homotron modulator. I got it to stop blowing all the trasnsresistors, I just can't get it to stop blowing the fuse.
