So much for the old adage "Never date outside your species"

Looks as if there may be advantages to cross-species boning:

Tibetans were able to adapt to high altitudes thanks to a gene picked up when their ancestors mated with a species of human they helped push to extinction, according to a new report by University of California, Berkeley, scientists. [...]

"We have very clear evidence that this version of the gene came from Denisovans," a mysterious human relative that went extinct 40,000-50,000 years ago, around the same time as the more well-known Neanderthals, under pressure from modern humans, said principal author Rasmus Nielsen, UC Berkeley professor of integrative biology. "This shows very clearly and directly that humans evolved and adapted to new environments by getting their genes from another species."

All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Do you understand the implications of this? It means that bestiality could convey evolutionary advantages. So, next time, there's no need for you to bypass that cute sheep.

Isn't this the same thing that ancient astronaut theorists have been saying?

Well, sort of, only this one has actual scientific proof in the form of mitochondrial DNA analysis.

Where did the more advanced human beings come from? Was it alien DNA? Possibly.

There was only a difference of on the order of 300 mitochondrial chromosome pairs between the two species; neither was significantly more advanced than the other.

For some reason, I always end up with the ugly ones.

Not if you're just looking at numbers. Look at what that 300 actually means. It's the difference between grunts and an alphabet.

    Unhh.

Actually, at that point, everyone of the genus Homo was illiterate. Written language wouldn't come around for another 35,000-40,000 years.
