    mobile antennsas...

Anyone have any good suggestions for mobile 2m/70cm antennas?

Right now I'm leaning towards the Comet NCG SBB5.

I'm looking for black, mid to small size, with a pl-259 mount. It's going on the Diamond K400S mount, and will be connected to a Yaesu FT2800M.

Diamond or Comet won't differe much in quality or working, it just depends on length, on my van i had the Diamond 1/2 wave for 2 and 2 x 5/8 for 70 in one antenna, have to look up the antenna in the attick to see what type it is, not used anymore, sold the dualband radio.

Well, I ended up going with the Jetstream JTM3B.

    http://www.jetstream-usa.com/jtm3b.shtml

    3.0 db on 2m, 5.5 db on 70cm
    1/2 wave radialless on 2m 146 Mhz
    2 x 5/8 wave radialless on 445 Mhz
    Handles 200 watts
    Height 40"
    Less than 1.5:1 VSWR
    UHF or M type connector
    Black in color

Since I decided to go 'cheap' with my VHF/UHF radio, and bought a used $90 FT2800M, I stayed cheap with the antenna as well. It was $30 at Gigaparts. I dont need anything special right now because I'd rather save the money and buy a good HF station.

    HOLY ANTENNA BATMAN!!!

The Jetstream 40" dual band came in today, so I went ahead and put it on the Diamond mount I have on the Jeep. Picked up and SMA-F/SMA-F coupler at radio shack and hooked up my 5 watts.

    WWWHHHHAAAAATTT!!!

IT's like a completely different radio. I'm picking things up without any static, I'm full quieting into repeaters that I've NEVER been full quieting into. This weekends road trip will be the big test! I'm only taking the Baofeng with me since the 2800m will not be here in time.
