Cats are extremely intelligent creatures that are maligned by superstition and ignorance.
Last night I asked Amber if she was ready to come inside and she said, "uh uh." As is no. Later I came back and said that I really needed her to come in so I can go to bed and she said, "OK, but first let me pop this tom on the nose so he'll know I got the last word."
She literally talks to me in mouth vocalized trills.

They do that. Bhutan Fang, our ragdoll kitty, has a whole litany of trills and vocalizations telling us exactly what he wants. He's very LOUD when the kitten is bugging him to play and Boo doesn't want to.
