    If you don't have an antenna analyzer...

    ...but you have a oscilloscope and a signal generator, here's a way to check the complex impedance of that new antenna you just built or to adjust your antenna tuner for a given frequency.

    I have an antenna analyzer so haven't tried this myself but I may do it some day just for the hell of it.

    Pretty cool idea. That's the interesting part of the hobby. No matter what you need to do or how you do it, someone else always has an alternative. With scopes and sig gens quite easily obtained for just a few bucks, this would be a great alternative to buying a $300 antenna analyzer. BUT, I still like my analyzer since I already have it, and it does make the process quicker for multi band tuning.
