Here are the new limitations, rolled up a bit from the original settings:

Disk space isn't an issue, but most folks don't like mainly text based forums flooded with 400x400 animated gif images. The jpg settings should allow very decent resolution images at 250k and 800 x 600.
I remember we rolled these back like we did because the overuse of large images. As long as the thread formatting doesn't get "blown up" like they used to at "that other place", we'll go with these settings.
