Yeah, maybe, although I've never heard a roger beep on HF or seen an HF rig that has that feature. I've only heard them coming from Chinese VHF/UHF FM rigs and "import" 10m rigs that are actually not legal for sale here.Originally Posted by mw0uzo

Sadly the practical use of such a feature is swamped by the ham disapproving BS and the toy nature on CB. Shame really.

The Colorado Connection repeater system uses a "K" as a courtesy tone. The "main" system on the front range uses a fast "K", with the outlying repeaters using a slower "K", which lets the system users know that it's linked, and needs a bit more time to drop.
Outlying repeaters are linked via UHF. Pretty cool stuff, that fast and slow "K".
