    Truer words were never spoken.
I was trying to find a good copy of Babe Ruth's "Wells Fargo" as a disco entry.
Might not be true disco, but all the disco places played it in the mid 70's.
    This will have to do.
    Dance on.

Melanie Safka... Good one! Did you know that she took her mom with her to sing at Woodstock? When they had to ferry the artists to the stage by helicopter because of the crowd, she was told she had to leave her mom behind or she wouldn't be singing. True story. So much for hippie love. And it doesn't take Freud to figure this one out:

I tried to get into Woodstock after it had already started. I could only get to within 11 miles of it by car. The folks at the check points told me it was declared a disaster area. I didn't want to walk 11 miles into a disaster area so I left.

Man..That's cool. I guess I was 11 or 12 when happened. I was dorking out listening to what my sister had. Simon and Garfunkel mostly. Pop bought me a little dinky pocket AM radio and there was a station in Charlotte that used to sign with Hendrix playing the Star Spangled Banner. I'd put my little ear plugs in and groove. Hit high school and bought a Quadrophenia album..I have been f'uped on it ever since. Love the tunes man.
    To you sis

When was woodstock 69? (I was 19) I wanted to go for the whole thing but it just wasn't in the cards. Then my Aunt offered to take my younger brother and I up to my favorite place, Lake Wallenpaupack in PA.
I got the car for the day while we were up there and my brother and I headed for the event only to be turned away.

    Simon & Garfunkle:
I can remember some of my first experiences with the wacky weed happening when Mrs. Robinson was a hit. I had a 1961 Buick Electra 225 convertable then....those were the days.

I was 13 in August, 1969. Too young for Woodstock, but always a hippie at heart. Free love, a little ganja and being broke gotta beat bitches, ho's, crack and bling.

Here's the opening act. If you ever get the chance to see the Director's Cut DVD on a decent screen with a good sound system, don't pass it up.

Good Deal on the Richie Havens.
I recorded Woodstock on VCR from PBS doc a while back. Still play it.
The best of the best, IMHO.
    Major coolness.
    Loving it.
