The NYC Jet Car.
No SoundOfficial New York Central tape of jet car. This train broke the world speed record for a train at the time and still holds the record in the United States to this day. It achieved the record by putting an airplane jet engine on the roof of the traincar. The record was made on a straight stretch of track in northwest Ohio.
