    Another influential, if lesser known, musician also lost to cancer: Bert Janch, who died this past Wednesday. His work influenced everybody from Bob Dylan to Jimmy Page, yet hardly anyone has ever heard of him.

    All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.
