    Jericho, Kansas

Never watched that thing when it was on prime time. Wasn't in front of the screen at those moments.

Now it is on Netflix. The XYL and I watched 22 episodes this weekend.

We gather that this town is somewhere close to where the XYL was born. But they seem to have a lot of people in town for that to be happening in that area. The CW in the intro seems to be different every time. It's sloppy. Music is loud and difficult to copy.

They used an FT-101F in the pilot show.

There are many hills and valleys. Never saw anything like it in western Kansas. Too many trees. They are growing crops without irrigation. Roads have ditches in the show.

Eastern Kansas is a bit less flat.

It is entertaining anyway. Quite a soap opera. I would recommend it for entertainment and not for getting any ideas of what Kansas is like. Fer sure.

A neighbor of ours in Kansas did crop art.

Stan Herd would buzz our house in his ultra lite on his way to land all the time. It was cool living nearby.

Looks like the San Fernando Valley to me. Those are probably the Santa Monica Mountains in the background.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Just checked: according to the Wikipedia article on the show, Jericho was filmed primarily in Van Nuys, CA, which is indeed the San Fernando Valley. Some was also filmed in Filmore, CA, a town in Ventura County which is popular with Hollywood production companies who want to film in a location that looks like a small town without the trouble of actually going to one.
